Love

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 1Cor 13:1 (NIV)

The world can not teach you love, they don’t know what it means. God is love. The one without God can not give the love that comes from God. God is love and without God, there is no love. Many believers don’t have love? No! They have love but they don’t show love because they refuse the concept of love. Love is selfless and undemanding but giving at every opportunity availed to it. Love seeks for the good of others. Love puts others first. How many times have you put the other person first? The person’s feeling, need, want, desire, purpose…. Make a choice to love. It is in you, you need just to put pride, selfishness and “what about me” aside and reach out to others and show the love that God has richly bestowed generously on us when he even sent his only begotten son to die for us. He thought of us first, that is why he did it. His love is not based on all the right things we do (our righteousness is of Christ Jesus). Therefore, the love he is calling us to show is not based on what right thing the person has done or not, it is based on what he has done for us, it is based on us doing it for him; representing him on earth, showing the world the love of the creator. It is not based on what they have done well to us or not. This love is unconditional; it’s not based on anything else but God. Jesus said this command I give to you; Love…, love God (who is love) and he will shed his love abroad in your heart. He will teach you how to love your friends, enemies, the unloving, love those that despitefully use you, love every group of people you can think of. Love is the commandment Jesus gave us. Without love, we are nothing, we amount to nothing. Are you walking in God’s kind of love?

Feelings

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (vs6) For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; (vs8) and they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Italics for emphasis). It’s amazing how we base so much of our decisions on the way we feel. Feeling finds its place in the flesh and the scripture teaches that they that leave by the flesh cannot please God (vs. 8). If there is no condemnation for only those who walk according to the Spirit, then those who walk according to the flesh are walking the road of condemnation. The bible teaches in the letter of paul to the Galatians, chapter 5 verses 19-21 reads:
Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (AMP)

If we stop and think of some problems that we have in our lives, they are a direct result of the cravings of the flesh. The flesh is so powerful that it can rule and ruin a man’s life. The voice of the flesh speaks a million and one times a day, its favorite word is I. It takes a conscious effort not to leave a life of self. I once heard a great preacher say that your greatest enemy is yourself. She was talking about the flesh. We need to deny the flesh; we need to die to self to be able to leave above it. We need to stop and ask ourselves what the word of God says about what we feel like doing, we need to ask ourselves what we would have done if we were not feeling like that. Acting on the answers to these questions will allow us to leave above the control of the flesh. How do we check our feelings with the word of God if we don’t know what the word of God says, we need to study the word of God daily to be able to act based on it. We could say that it is very hard when it comes to some feelings, every feeling has a root, if we do not water the root, it will not grow. Feelings are inevitable; they come every time, if not controlled, it will control you.

Beautiful Savior

Hope (Part 1)

Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is being sure of what we HOPE for and certain of what we do not see"

The scripture states clearly that without faith it is impossible to please God. Hope plays a vital role in having faith. It is being sure of what we hope for..., without hope therefore, there is no faith and without faith, we cant walk with God. What is hope? hope is a general feeling that some desire will be fulfilled, it's a state of expecting a wish or promise to be fulfilled. Hope is a vital ingredient to achieving goals in life. A man that ceases to hope, ceases to live. It makes us count the days and mark events. When man hopes for a thing; he plans towards it, he thinks about it, he talks about it, he jokes about it, he meditates on it and he gets it. However, man hopes for various things in life.The bible says ...faith comes by hearing (what is told)....Rom 10:17(AMP), What we hope for is born out of a seed sown in our hearts (spirit) through what we have read, seen or heard about. What we dwell on determines what we desire and what we desire brings about what we hope for. As we dwell on the word of God in the scriptures and what he told us as a person (his promises, directions, leading...) we begin to know his will and desire it. In desiring his will, we hope for it, and then have faith. No matter the situation we find ourselves, we need to hold on and believe the rigth information which gives us hope for the future. Jesus said; there is nothing impossible to them that believe.

Who To Follow

Eph 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; KJV

Sociology teaches that everyone tends to act the same way. The bible tells us to be followers of God. It is quite easy to admire a person and pattern our lives after the person. However, we end up making the same mistakes the person makes that we never knew he/she made. The person is not perfect, the perfect figure to pattern our lifes after his God.

Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, ....

Jesus is the perfect image of God that we can live our lifes by. By the study of the word of God, we know how to follow him. The life Jesus lived is a perfect example of the life we are to live to follow God. There are no mistakes when we work with him. Men will always make mistakes but a life patterned after the word of God lived with the help of the Spirit leads to a fulfilled life.

Vision

Genesis 37: 1-end
Joseph had a vision of what was to happen in his life and told his brothers and father. The storm of his life started soon after this. Just at the beginning of his wilderness experience, his brother; Reuben planned to save him from the scheme of his brothers but that was not the timing for the end of the storm; it was just the beginning of the journey to the place of purpose and fulfillment. He was sold off as a slave into a land where he was an alien. God favored him and brought him to a place of honor in his master’s house. He became the ruler over everything that his master owned. That looked good, but that was not his destination. Many a times in our lives, we get to a place we are so comfortable with and feel we have attained our goal and there is no other place to attain. God is about shaking you out of that chair and taking you to where he purposed. Joseph was still a servant but was honored and had authority in his master’s house but God wanted him to be the master of his present master. God has told some of you to let go of that job, that relationship, that house, that business, that lot………….. in your life so you can gain Him, to get the promise. He wants you to become the master of your master but you are holding on tightly to the place of the servant while the place of the master is vacant for you to fill. If it as not happened, it’s about to happen, the test is about to come your way, your not at your place of destiny yet. Joseph was faced with potifers wife but rather than take control of what was not given to him, he fled and landed in the prison. He continued on his divine destiny. Joseph must have thought time and time again if his dream were just wishful thoughts, how many of us have thought that, I have thought that some times. Then came the buckler and the baker with a divine mission. Do not despise anyone that comes along your way and don’t despise your gifts. Don’t say where have it gotten me, do not lose faith in the gift the Lord has given you. He told them the meaning of their dreams and it sure came to pass. The buckler soon forgot who Joseph was and went on with his life but God never forgets. Have you done well to an influential person and you expected so much from them, well your help is not from the east, west nor south, your help is from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth. When it was time to bring Joseph out of the wilderness into the land of promise, God gave the king a dream and made the wise foolish to bring his purpose to pass. It was time for Joseph to be lifted and nothing could stop it. I tell you, when its time for your lifting, nothing can stop you. All the happenings in your life that you say that if only that person did not………or that person had……, it would have been like………… just stop there and listen to this; When it is your time for God to show you off, nothing can stop it. God is the master strategist. No one can beat him to it. His got the joker, his got the ace.

Who to believe

1 kings 13: 1-32.
When God gives you a word about anything, the age or position of anyone should not change the word God gave you. The resulting problem will be on you and not the prophet, pastor or who ever it is that you look up as been close to God. If you are sure that God told you something, let no one tell you other wise. The Spirit of God is our guide, companion, helper……don’t let the words men speak; claiming it is from God mislead you. Stand by what God as told you. A prophet also has his fleshly part………the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth that can never mislead you. What has God told you? Stand by it and do not waver.
